Feilding Old Boys-Ōroua and Linton Army will enter teams into the 2024 Manawatū Senior 1 club rugby competition.

Feilding Old Boys-Ōroua returns to Senior 1 after winning the Senior 2 grade this season. Linton Army return after a four-year hiatus from the top grade.  

The Senior 1 competition will include nine teams, which will play each other in a full round robin. Following that, the competition will be split into two - the top five teams will compete for the Hankins Shield and the bottom four will battle it out for the Val Holland Trophy.

2024 Manawatū Senior 1 club rugby competition details:

• the competition will start 29 March
• it will run for a total of 16 weeks, including playoffs
• first round - full round robin (8 games and one bye)
• second round - split into a top five and bottom four (top five will have four games and a bye, bottom four will have three games and two byes)
• semi finals will take place on 6 July
• finals will be played on 13th July
• full draw to be announced.
