Five Manawatū Cyclones players have been selected to take part in New Zealand Under 20 women’s development camps later this month.

Cyclones prop Traest Mafile'o, flanker Elinor-Plum King, halfback Maia Davis, and midfield backs Rangimarie Sturmey and Hollyrae Mete are among the players selected for the camps.

New Zealand Rugby has introduced these camps to identify and develop young players with the potential to wear the black jersey.

The focus of the camps will be education and personal development, with ongoing development set to continue in provincial union academies and throughout Super Rugby Aupiki and the Farah Palmer Cup. No team will be selected at the end of the camps.

The camps will be led by leading coaches from throughout the country, with Black Ferns and Super Rugby Aupiki coaches in attendance.

The camps will take place later this month in Wellington and Christchurch, with players split into two groups.
