VACANCY – WOMEN’S PERFORMANCE MANAGER


The Manawatū Rugby Union is seeking applicants for the role of Women’s Performance Manager.

We are looking for a strong people manager to lead our Women’s Performance Programme for up-and-coming athletes with the desire to achieve the highest level of representative rugby.

Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • leading the Women’s Performance staff, including Cyclones team management
  • supporting Cyclones team management in the planning and executing their Farah Palmer Cup campaign.
  • identifying players for the annual intake of the Manawatū Women’s Academy
  • coordinating coaching resources for the Women’s Performance Programme
  • managing spending within the Women’s Performance and Cyclones budgets
  • assisting in the development and implementation of appropriate team protocols and standards, and ensuring these are met
  • monitoring, assessing, and assisting with player performance and development

Key competencies for the role include:

  • involvement with rugby at a senior level
  • sound tactical and technical knowledge of the game and specific position development
  • demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and build good working relationships
  • strong organisational and time management skills
  • great interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • self-motivation and a positive, can-do attitude

This is a permanent, part-time position (20 hours per week).
